This is a very unique piece! I found this old piece in its original box that came from Shillito's! Does anyone remember Shillito's. It is now Macy's. This took me right back to my childhood. A quality piece of lead crystal on the bottom and the top was silver plate, but a bit tarnished so I painted it a pretty pink and embellished it with delicate hand painted roses. It measures 14" tall and is almost 6 inches wide at the bottom. the top has a beautiful carved handle. When you remove the top, there is a plastic piece that goes in the center to hold ice cubes, thus the name carafe chiller. I was very careful not to paint the inside but you may want to use it for decorative purposes. This would be a very lovely piece to have on your sideboard or in a vignette. It will come to you in its original box. |
